She

Front CoverFar, far away from home as she waits alone
She’s thinking aloud
Oh what a lovely day this turned out to be
And she sits quietly and listens
To her heart beat rapidly.
Just yesterday he said to her that he wants nothing in return
But that he had to let her go
Left her crawling on the floor
He said this place is mine, you can move out anytime
Darkness won’t conceal her sores
When morning came she shut the door

Now, now without a home, took the bus alone
She’s thinking aloud
Oh what a perfect way to start the week
To be left crying in the street
There’s nowhere left to go
She turned her eyes into the sky
And said “God please just let me die
I don’t deserve this pain, don’t wanna feel this way again”
Many moments of regret, many years she won’t forget
But in the remnants of it all she realized

She’s free, free
Free from all the pain, all the heartache and the shame
Free to come alive again

Another day, another life
And she’s someone else’s wife
There’s a light that’s in her eyes
Her pretty face reveals a smile
She won’t forget the past but she knows that this will last
In her liberated high she’s realized

She’s free, free
Free from all the pain, all the heartache and the shame
Free to live her life again
